Autumn 1

Wriggle and Crawl

Grab your coat and pooter – we’re going out and about on a minibeast hunt! Sweep your nets in puddles and ponds and lift up logs to see who’s home.

Then set up your own minibeast laboratory and observe their every move. Add notes and labels and ask your own research questions – just like a real entomologist.

On your belly, legs at the ready, it’s time to wriggle and crawl!

Autumn 2

Splendid Skies

Imagine floating high above land and sea on a bed of clouds, silently sweeping by on a billowing breeze.

Back down to earth, let’s take a walk outdoors. But what should we wear? Wellington boots? A sun hat? Maybe a warm coat? How do we know what the weather will be like today?

What weather do you prefer? Sunshine, snow, storms or showers? Get your wellingtons on – let’s go!

Spring 1

Muck, Mess and Mixtures

Let’s get messy! Muck and mess is all good! In fact it is mega-marvellous!

Dive in and get your hands and feet all sticky and covered in paint. Play with liquids, squish some dough and check out the slushiest and mushiest foods.

Pour, mix, stir and splat! How does it feel? Write instructions, riddles and poems – there are lots of scrummy words to describe messy mixtures! Don’t worry about the mess . . . it’ll always wash!

Spring 2

The Scented Garden

Tiptoe through the tulips as your senses discover the blooming foliage and enchanting fragrances of flowers and herbs. Round and round the mulberry bush we go, planting bulbs and seeds, and then watch them grow beneath the sunshine and showers.

Explore the astounding world of the scented garden, but be careful, there are some wild and dangerous plants out there that do astonishing things – just don’t touch!

Everything is coming up roses! Why not grow your own?

Summer 1

Tower, Tunnels and Turrets

See the castle ahead? Get ready to invade its mighty walls! Shoot a projectile with an archer’s aim! Head across the drawbridge, over the moat and up to the top of the tower…

Meet Rapunzel who lives in a tall, tall tower. Let’s build a brand new one…Whose is the strongest? Can you measure it? Then dig deep, deep down making burrows and tunnels, just like the animals who live underground.

No huffing and puffing will blow your fortress down!

Summer 2

Land Ahoy

Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!

Get your sea legs on, it’s time to sail the salty seas.

Navigate, investigate and explore the world.

Make a boat, sink a ship, fly a pirate flag, speak like a pirate and write like a poet.

How do rescues happen at sea? Find out about brave volunteers.

Thar’s land ahead, me buckos! Let’s get t’ship t’port.
